Annual Christmas Walk Proclaims
the start of the Christmas Season

The Christmas Walk in Manito, hosted by The Manito Community Bank proclaims the start of the Christmas Season in the Village.

“The Christmas Walk” begins early December, and remains lit each evening until Christmas, weather permitting.

A special opening ceremony is generally held to open the event.

Popular gospel singer Cathy Reynolds, has been the traditional entertainment during the opening evening. Reynolds formerly sang for three years with the Anita Bryant show in Branson, MO.

Santa Claus is always scheduled to make his appearance to greet visitors and listen to Christmas wishes.

Following Cathy’s performance Trinity Lutheran Church customarily presents a Christmas Program in the Historical School House adjacent to the walk.

The Christmas displays are situated so that they may be seen more easily by people driving by.

The Christmas displays, which are sponsored by local businesses and individuals, are located behind the bank with the programs being held inside the bank and school house.

Hot beverages and refreshments is generally available in the bank during the opening ceremony. This event is free to all who attend and is meant to help bring the community together for the Christmas season. Special appreciation to all local businesses and individuals who worked to make this event possible.
