Manito Plays Host to Wine, Art, Jazz and Balloons during Memorial Weekend

What began as Manito's turn in a rotating wine tasting event sponsored by Illinois River Wine Trail has turned into a permanent gig for theVillage. Because of the success of the first Wine, Art, Jazz and Balloon festival in 2009, the wineries involved agreed to declare Manito the permanent home for the event. They noted superior park space, excellent preparation and great support from theVillage and the Park District as reasons for their decision.

The annual event generally plays host to 12 Illinois wineries, 20 plus fine artisans, 3 great jazz bands and up to 8 hot air balloons. A typical festival sees 2000 patrons pass through the admissions gate.

The Manito Wine, Art, Jazz and Balloon Festival is held the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
